벨기에의 통합과 화합을 상징하는 필립 벨기에 국왕님을 만나 뵈었습니다. 국왕님께서는 왕세자 시절부터 다섯 차례 한국을 방문하시며 우리나라에 각별한 관심과 애정을 보여주셨고, 이는 오늘날 대한민국과 벨기에가 굳건한 신뢰와 협력 관계를 이어오는 든든한 토대가 되었습니다.

오늘 우리는 미래세대가 서로를 더 깊이 이해하고, 함께 배우며 성장할 수 있는 기반을 단단히 다져가자는 데 뜻을 함께했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 교육과 문화, 과학기술, 인적 교류를 비롯한 다양한 분야에서도 협력을 폭넓게 확대해 가길 기대합니다.

올해는 대한민국과 벨기에가 수교 125주년을 맞는 뜻깊은 해입니다. 125년에 걸쳐 쌓아온 두터운 신뢰와 우정을 바탕으로, 앞으로 더 큰 미래를 함께 열어가는 동반자로 나아가길 소망합니다. 따뜻하게 맞아주신 국왕님께 깊은 감사를 전합니다.

I had the pleasure of meeting His Majesty the King of the Belgians, who symbolizes the unity and cohesion of Belgium.

Since his time as Crown Prince, His Majesty has visited Korea on five occasions, demonstrating his deep interest in and affection for our country. His longstanding commitment has helped lay a strong foundation for the close relationship of trust and cooperation that Korea and Belgium enjoy today.

Today, we shared the view that we should further strengthen the foundations that will enable future generations to better understand one another, learn together, and grow together. We also expressed our hope to expand cooperation across a wide range of fields, including education, culture, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Belgium. Building on the trust and friendship we have cultivated over the past 125 years, I hope our two countries will continue to advance as partners in shaping a greater future together. I extend my sincere gratitude to His Majesty for the warm welcome.
