Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will participate in three virtual meetings on the occasion of this high-level week of the 75^th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

First, in the meeting of the Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security led by the Republic of Korea on September 23, Minister Kang will deliver opening remarks in which she will call for international cooperation to respond to the prolonged COVID-19 situation and minimize its negative impact on future generations.

On September 25, Minister Kang will deliver an address and participate in a discussion at the seminar hosted by the Asia Society based in New York, the United States, and attend the Ministerial Meeting of the Alliance for Multilateralism hosted by the Federal Republic of Germany and the French Republic.

At the Asia Society’s seminar, Minister Kang will talk about the ROK’s efforts to strengthen multilateralism to overcome the pandemic as well as close collaboration between the ROK and the U.S.

At the ministerial meeting of the Alliance for Multilateralism, Minister Kang will stress the ROK’s firm commitment and the need for stronger cooperation to reinforce the multilateral health architecture.
