Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha, together with Minister of National Defense Jeong Kyeongdoo, will attend the launching ceremony of the “2021 United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Preparatory Secretariat” on Tuesday, June 30.

With regard to the Ministerial to take place in Seoul in April 2021, the government will continue efforts to hold a successful meeting by launching the “Preparatory Secretariat” following the inaugural meeting of the Preparatory Committee on May 22.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Taeho will attend the Sudan Partnership Conference to take place today, June 25, in a video format.

At the Partnership Conference, which will be launched in the presence of about 30 countries and international organizations, Vice Minister Lee will express the ROK government’s support for the political and economic reform efforts by the Republic of the Sudan including through development cooperation and humanitarian aid.
