Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha will visit Busan on Saturday, September 21, to review the progress in the preparations for the 2019 ASEAN-Republic of Korea (ROK) Commemorative Summit and the 1^st Mekong-ROK Summit to take place on November 25-27.

While in Busan, Minister Kang will visit venues of major events, including the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) and the Nurimaru APEC House. She will also visit the ASEAN Culture House, which opened in Busan in 2017, to check exhibitions being held as part of cultural exchanges, and facilities.

In close cooperation with the Busan Metropolitan City and other relevant organizations, the ROK government will continue efforts to hold a successful Commemorative Summit and to achieve meaningful outcomes from the visits to the ROK by the leaders of the participating countries.
