Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho will attend the “International Conference on Hydrogen 2019” on June 17.

​

The upcoming Conference will bring together some 500 people, including policy-makers of the United States, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand; delegates from international organizations, institutions, academic circles and enterprises; and members of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Korea. At the Conference, the participants will discuss hydrogen energy policies, technological progress, and ways to vitalize international cooperation.

In his opening remarks, Vice Minister Lee will underscore the future possibilities of hydrogen energy and the importance of cooperation on energy transition efforts.

​

The Conference is expected to contribute to Korea’s efforts to boost its hydrogen economy and to build a stable hydrogen supply chain through international cooperation.
