Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

The 3rd ROK-Visegrad Group Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to be held on June 7 will be attended by the Foreign Ministers of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Poland, and Hungary. Minister Kang and her counterparts from the four countries will exchange in-depth views on the friendly and cooperative relations between the ROK and the four countries; ways to increase substantive cooperation in science and technology, cybersecurity and innovation; and the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Europe as well as global issues.

In her remarks at a session on the Korean Peninsula of the GLOBSEC Forum hosted by the government of Slovakia, Minister Kang will explain the ROK government’s efforts to achieve complete denuclearization and establish permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula, and request major European countries’ attention and support.

Minister Kang will hold a bilateral meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, and discuss the tour boat accident in Hungary. Minister Kang will also meet bilaterally with her counterparts from Slovakia and other countries participating in the Forum, and discuss the issue.
