Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun will hold the 5^th Republic of Korea-Swiss Confederation Policy Consultation with Pascale Baeriswyl, State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, on the morning of May 17.

In the upcoming meeting, the Vice Minister and the State Secretary will discuss issues concerning the ROK-Switzerland relations and the political situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Europe; and, in particular, will exchange in-depth views on the current situation on the Korean Peninsula. 

After the policy consultation, the Vice Minister and the State Secretary will hold the signing ceremony for “the Protocol Amending the Convention between the Republic of Korea and Switzerland for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income.”

On the afternoon of the same day, Vice Minister Cho will attend and deliver congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony of the new Swiss Embassy building in the ROK.
