Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

First, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho will meet with a delegation from the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, headed by the Committee’s Chairman Volkan BOZKIR, on Tuesday, May 7.

The forthcoming visit to the Republic of Korea by the Turkish delegation will take place at the invitation of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the ROK National Assembly. Vice Minister Lee will exchange views with the delegation on ways to promote the friendship and cooperation between Korea and Turkey as well as the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

Moving along, the 2019 ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Inter-Sessional Support Group (ISG) Meeting on Confidence Building Measures and Preventive Diplomacy will take place in Seoul on Friday, May 3.

The Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Thailand, which is the Chair of ASEAN for 2019, will co-chair the ISG Meeting. In the forthcoming Meeting, the participants will discuss confidence-building measures, preventive diplomacy activities, and regional security issues.
