Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho will attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Myanmar Development Institute (MDI), to be held in Nay Pyi Taw, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on January 24.

In his congratulatory remarks, Vice Minister Lee will extend congratulations on the start of the construction of an independent MDI building, and ask for the Myanmarese government’s interest and role in developing the MDI.

During his visit to Myanmar, Vice Minister Lee Tae-ho will also meet with key Myanmarese officials, including Union Minister for International Cooperation Kyaw Tin and Union Minister for Planning and Finance Soe Win, as well as Korean residents and businessmen in the country.
