Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will meet bilaterally with Vice Foreign Minister of Panama Maria Navarro, who is on a visit to the Republic of Korea to attend the “Vision Sharing Program for Latin American Countries’ National Development,” at the Foreign Ministry on August 10.

In the meeting, the two Vice Ministers will exchange views on bilateral issues and other issues of mutual interest, including the ROK-Panama relations; substantive cooperation in trade affairs, infrastructure, and the shipping sector; and the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

In the meeting, Vice Minister Cho will also take note that the two countries have developed friendly and cooperative relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1962, and offer to continue to work together to expand substantive cooperation between the two countries based on continued high-level exchanges and mutual trust.
