1. The 5^th Republic of Korea-United States Senior Economic Dialogue (SED) will be held in a virtual format on the morning of October 14, with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Taeho and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Keith Krach leading their respective delegations.

o The Dialogue is a vice ministerial-level channel for economic diplomacy and consultation between the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of State established pursuant to the agreement reached between the Presidents of the two countries during their summit in October 2015. The previous four meetings were held in November 2015, January 2017, December 2018, and November 2019, respectively.

2. At the upcoming Dialogue, the two sides will have an extensive exchange of views on economic cooperation between the ROK and the U.S. amid the COVID-19 pandemic; bilateral cooperation in science and technology and energy; cooperation in line with the New Southern Policy and the Indo-Pacific Strategy; and cooperation on various global issues, including women’s economic empowerment and new technologies.
