1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will make an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on September 17-18 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Pham Binh Minh.

° Minister Kang will be the first foreign minister to make an official visit to Viet Nam since the spread of COVID-19. The upcoming visit reflects the close cooperative relations between the Republic of Korea and Viet Nam.

2. During the forthcoming visit, Minister Kang will have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Minh and discuss in depth the two countries’ cooperation on COVID-19 response, the development of the strategic cooperative partnership, key bilateral and multilateral issues, and regional and global affairs. Minister Kang will also pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
