Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov in their capacity as chief negotiators for the North Korean nuclear issue in Moscow, Russia, on the morning of November 8. They exchanged in-depth views on the overall situation on the Korean Peninsula, including the progress since the working-level negotiations between the United States (U.S.) and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held in Stockholm.

During the meeting, the two sides shared the understanding that it is critical that
they maintain the momentum of U.S.-DPRK dialogue and agreed to continue joint
efforts to achieve substantial progress toward complete denuclearization and
the establishment of permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
