Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs to Visit U.S. for Bilateral and Trilateral Consultations with U.S. and Japanese Chief Negotiators on North Korean Nuclear Issue

1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, will visit Washington DC, the United States (U.S.), on October 7-10. During the visit, he will have bilateral consultations with Mr. Stephen Biegun, U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, and discuss ways for the Republic of Korea and the U.S. to work together in achieving substantial progress toward complete denuclearization and the establishment of permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

 

2. Furthermore, Amb. Lee will have a bilateral meeting on the North Korean nuclear issue with Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau Takizaki Shigeki of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan who will be on a visit to the U.S. as well, and also have a trilateral consultation with U.S. and Japanese chief negotiators on the North Korean nuclear issue.
