1. During his visit to the Republic of Serbia on October 3-4, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Yoon Soon-gu of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK) paid a courtesy call on Minister Ivica Dačić of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia on Friday, October 4. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries which mark the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and to implement the follow-up measures to Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha’s visit to Serbia in June 2019.

2. The two sides commended that the two countries have advanced friendly and cooperative relations in a wide range of fields since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties in 1989, and agreed to make concerted efforts to further promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties.

○ In the meeting, the two sides welcomed that Minister Kang’s visit to Serbia in June this year was successfully concluded; noted active high-level exchanges between the two countries in recent years, including Deputy Minister Yoon’ visit; and agreed to continue cooperation in facilitating such exchanges.

3. The two sides noted with appreciation that cooperation in trade and investment, development cooperation, e-government and environment has thus far increased, and agreed to seek ways to enhance cooperation in such fields.

○ In addition, the two sides took note of the steady increase in trade between the ROK and Serbia, and shared the view on the importance of making efforts to further increase bilateral trade volume corresponding to the potential of both countries.

4. Both sides expressed expectation that various cultural events underway in commemoration of the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will contribute to deepening mutual understanding between the people of the ROK and Serbia, and agreed to continue to promote cooperation in cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
