1. The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) has decided to extend through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) 300,000 USD in humanitarian assistance to the Republic of the Sudan, which suffered severe damages from floods caused by continued heavy rains throughout August.

° The 300,000-USD assistance is expected to be used in overall relief activities, including providing food and drinking water as well as medicines, and monitoring and responding to disease outbreaks, and thereby contribute to stabilizing livelihoods of Sudanese people who have been affected by the floods.

2. The ROK government will continue to extend humanitarian assistance to countries and their nationals affected by natural disasters.
