1. The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) will extend humanitarian assistance of 200,000 USD to the Republic of Namibia severely affected by drought which has continued since October 2018.

○ Declared as a state of emergency, the drought has put 500,000 people, accounting for 20% of Namibia’s total population of 2.6 million, at risk of food and water shortages. Furthermore, Namibians are suffering from the severely reduced crop production after tens of thousands of livestock starved to death.

2. As a responsible member of the international community, the ROK government will continue to extend humanitarian assistance to join efforts to help countries and nationals affected by natural disasters overcome damage.
