1. Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lee Do-hoon, who held a meeting with the top negotiator of the Russian Federation on the North Korean nuclear issue on December 18, will hold a meeting of the top negotiators of the Republic of Korea and the United States on the issue as well as a meeting of the ROK-US working group with US Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun, who will be on a visit to the ROK from December 19 to 22.

2. In their meeting, the two Special Representatives will review the results of the recent meetings between the United States and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea; fine-tune ways to make tangible progress toward denuclearization and the establishment of a peace regime, including diplomatic strategies to be implemented in early 2019 in response to the North Korean nuclear issue; and thoroughly discuss the full range of nuclear and other issues concerning the DPRK, including inter-Korean relations.
