Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs to Visit US
1. Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lee Do-hoon will visit Washington DC, the United States, from October 21 till 23. During the visit, Special Representative Lee, together with US Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun, will hold a meeting in their capacity as top negotiators of the Republic of Korea and the US on the North Korean nuclear issue. He will also meet with other major officials in the US administration who handle matters concerning the Korean Peninsula.
2. In the meetings to come during the Special Representative’s visit to the US ahead of follow-up negotiations between the US and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the ROK and US officials will share with each other the outcome of Special Representative Lee’s recent visit to China as well as that of Special Representative Biegun’s Russia and Europe tour, and discuss possible next strategies for denuclearization and peace.
