“Outreach Briefing Session on Global Youth” to Take Place at Konkuk University

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold an “outreach briefing session on global youth” at Konkuk University on September 4 to give information on a range of programs designed to support youth seeking job opportunities abroad.

 

o Date and venue: September 4 from 14:00 to 16:00, Prime Hall at Konkuk University

 

2. At the briefing session, to be held at the invitation of Konkuk University, six officials in charge of the programs of the Foreign Ministry, the Korea International Cooperation Agency, and the Korea Foundation will explain about ten programs, including those to support youth seeking employment at international organizations, internship programs at regional organizations in Latin America, and the Global Challengers program. They will also hold a question-and-answer session.

 

o They will provide useful information, including when applications for each program will be received, qualifications, assistance provided to about 4,000 people such as airfare and living expenses, and matters that need attention when going abroad.

 

3. Any young people who are interested in working overseas can attend the briefing session at Konkuk University. They will also be able to ask the officials in charge of the programs questions during one-on-one consultations to be held after the briefing session.

 

4. In order to systematically provide information on various programs aimed at supporting youth seeking job opportunities overseas, in which about 50,000 people participate a year, the Foreign Ministry has carried out outreach and online promotional activities since last year. Details on the programs are also available on the Foreign Ministry’s website on global youth (http://www.mofa.go.kr/youth).

 

5. Following the briefing session at Konkuk University, the Foreign Ministry will continue to hold briefing sessions at other universities in each region to communicate with students, and to provide information to all students across the nation.
