1. Governor of Zhejiang province of the People's Republic of China Yuan Jiajun will visit the Republic of Korea from August 23 to 26 for the “invitation program for influential Chinese figures” conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

※ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been conducting the “invitation program for influential Chinese figures” since 2005 to enhance bond with high-level officials of China and to step up exchanges and cooperation with provincial governments of the country.

2. On August 24, the 26^th anniversary of the establishment of the ROK-China diplomatic relations, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun will meet and discuss with Governor Yuan ways to promote the ROK-China and ROK-Zhejiang ties.

° The Governor’s schedule in the ROK will include a visit to Jeollanam-do (south Jeolla province), where he will attend celebrations for “the 20^th anniversary of the establishment of the sisterhood between Jeollanam-do and Zhejiang province”; as well as visits to Yeongam Gurim Hanok (traditional Korean house) Village and Hyosung Group.

3. The forthcoming visit of Governor Yuan to the ROK, the first of its kind in two years by a leader of China’s provincial government at the invitation of the ROK government, is expected to help boost exchanges between the ROK and Zhejiang province and between provincial governments of the two countries.
