1. Amid the concern over the possibility of Korean nationals sustaining damage from continued aftershocks on the island of Lombok, Indonesia, in the wake of the 7.0-magnitude earthquake on August 5, the Republic of Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the travel-alert level for the island to Yellow Alert (travel-alert Level 2, Highly Cautious) from the previous Blue Alert (travel-alert Level 1, Precautious), effective from August 10.

° Aftershocks continue in the region in the wake of the earthquake on August 5, as can be seen from more than 350 aftershocks, including the powerful one of 6.2 magnitude on August 9.

° Under the current circumstances hindering the majority of accommodation facilities and restaurants in the Senggigi region from operating normally, the Indonesian government has imposed restrictions on the entry to the islands of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.

2. The Korean nationals planning to visit or staying in Indonesia are advised to check the travel advisory issued by the Foreign Ministry and to pay serious heed to their safety.

3. The Foreign Ministry will continuously review whether to adjust once again the travel-alert level for the Indonesian island of Lombok while meticulously monitoring the seismic situation in the area.
