1. The government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns the Japanese government’s final adoption on March 30 of the courses of study for high schools that contain unjustifiable claims to Dokdo, an integral part of the ROK’s territory, despite the repeated warnings from the ROK government; and sternly demands an immediate withdrawal.

2. Dokdo is clearly the ROK’s territory -- the part thereof that was forcibly occupied by imperial Japan first in the course of its forcible occupation of and aggression against the Korean Peninsula. The Japanese government must be well aware that if it, despite this, continues efforts to instill an erroneous perspective of history over Dokdo into the country’s future generations and refuses to repent of its past imperialist aggression, it will miss out on the opportunity to learn from the past history and move forward into the future.

3. The government of the Republic of Korea makes clear that it will not tolerate and will respond resolutely to any provocations over Dokdo, clearly an integral part of the ROK’s territory historically, geographically and under international law.
