1. Director-General for Northeast Asian Affairs Kim Yong-kil of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will meet with Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau Kenji Kanasugi of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an ROK-Japan Director-General-level meeting in Seoul on January 8. They will exchange views on issues of mutual interest, including issues between the two countries.

2. The meeting takes place as the Foreign Ministers of the ROK and Japan agreed to hold the bilateral Director-General-level meeting on a regular basis and facilitate it in their meeting in Tokyo on December 19.
