1. The Foreign Ministry launched its renovated websites on January 2, offering the people of the Republic of Korea an easier access to diplomatic news as well as information on foreign policies and travel advisories.

° The renovated Korean-language website, consisting of three main pages on news and notices; foreign policies; and safety in foreign countries, respectively, features an easier integrated search function.

° In addition, an interactive design has been applied for different versions of the main page to pop up on monitors of different types of devices, such as desk-top and tablet computers as well as smart phones.

° The remodeled Korean-language website also features “the Minister’s open office,” where the top diplomat’s schedules and activities as well as people’s opinions will be posted.

2. The Foreign Ministry also revamped its English-language website to better promote abroad the ROK government’s foreign policies as well as the country itself.

° On the new English-language website will be posted diplomatic news regarding such matters as summit diplomacy and the Minister’s activities, as well as relevant photos. Also available on the website will be the Foreign Ministry’s newsletters, press releases and public diplomacy news.

° The website will also provide various types of information on the ROK that foreigner may need, including those on business, tourism, education, visa and working holiday.

3. The Foreign Ministry website for children and youth has been redesigned as well, offering information on diplomacy in a way that young Koreans can understand it more easily.

4. The Foreign Ministry, by having renovated its websites, is seeking to allow Korean nationals to have an easy access to and communicate on the ROK government’s foreign policies and activities and thereby to implement “people-participated diplomacy.”
