1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a photo exhibition titled “KOREA Through the Lens” at the Gallery MUN inside the Dongdaemun Design Plaza from December 9, 2017, to January 7, 2018.

o The photo exhibition is co-hosted by the Foreign Ministry, the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Corea Image Communication Institute (CICI), and the Seoul Design Foundation.

2. The exhibition displays photos and videos on the ROK taken from the unique perspectives of foreigners who came to the ROK for various reasons, including the diplomatic corps in the ROK. It especially presents works which won awards at the 2017 Culture Communication Forum contest.

3. At the opening ceremony on December 8, CICI President Choi Jung-wha and Director for Cultural Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Sun Seung-hye, along with foreign diplomats in the ROK who exhibited their works, congratulated the opening of the photo exhibition “KOREA Through the Lens,” which helps people see the daily lives in the ROK that they have not noticed before, what the country is really like, and its charms that have not been known.

4. The Foreign Ministry hopes that the exhibition will serve as an opportunity for Koreans to share unusual and familiar aspects of their country by seeing themselves in a new light through the moments of the country captured in foreigners’ lenses.
