1. The “2017 World Taekwondo Championship of the Ambassador’s Cup,” hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took place successfully at Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) in Seoul on December 6.

At the opening ceremony of the World Taekwondo Championship of the Ambassador’s Cup, which took place for the first time this year, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy Park Enna announced the beginning of the championship with her opening remarks, and the diplomatic corps in the ROK offered words of encouragement to athletes from their countries. In particular, a special performance by a Kukkiwon demonstration team opened the competition splendidly, receiving a big round of applause from participants.

3. At the championship, which took place in the form of Poomsae competition, 52 athletes from 25 countries showed off their skills and competed in seven categories based on gender and age. The first, second and third-place finishers in each category were awarded with medals.
