1. In celebration of “the Year of Republic of Korea-Iran Cultural Exchange 2017,” the ROK Foreign Ministry and the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO), with the support of the Korea Foundation (KF), will co-hold the “Amazing Hands: Craft Art from Iran” exhibition at the KF Gallery from November 23 till 26.

2. The exhibition will showcase diverse Iranian handicrafts giving a glimpse into the long history of the splendid Persian civilization. On display will be some 100 handicraft pieces made by contemporary artists and selected by ICHTO, some of which were already put on exhibit at the event held in Tehran on October 23 to mark the 55th anniversary of the ROK-Iran diplomatic relations.

3. At the exhibition’s opening ceremony on November 23, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy Park Enna will extend welcome to deputy head Bahman Namvar Motlaq of ICHTO and the Iranian artists who are on a visit to the ROK for the exhibition, and celebrate the co-held exhibition.

4. ICHTO’s deputy head and leader of the Iranian delegation Bahman Namvar Motlaq and Iranian Ambassador to the ROK Hassan Taherian will also join the opening ceremony and celebrate the exhibition organized to commemorate “the Year of Republic of Korea-Iran Cultural Exchange 2017.”

5. The Foreign Ministry expects that the “Amazing Hands: Craft Art from Iran” exhibition will serve as an opportunity for Koreans to fully experience Iranian culture and for the peoples of the two countries to better understand each other.

6. During “the Year of Republic of Korea-Iran Cultural Exchange 2017,” the ROK Foreign Ministry plans to hold various other commemorative events, including a symposium on “the ROK-Iran cultural cooperation and public diplomacy” and an Iranian film festival.
