Foreign Ministry to Hold “11th Diplomatic Talk Talk - Dialogue with Diplomats” at Kyonggi University on November 17

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold its eleventh “diplomatic talk talk” event titled “dialogue with diplomats” at Kyonggi University in Suwon on November 17, with a focus on the Foreign Ministry’s programs aimed at supporting youth seeking work abroad.

o The upcoming “diplomatic talk talk” is part of “outreach briefing sessions on global youth campaign,” where the Foreign Ministry informs young Koreans of its programs designed to support youth seeking work overseas. The event at Kyonggi University (Suwon) follows such briefing sessions held at Chungnam National University, Chonbuk National University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Pusan National University.

2. The forthcoming event will feature lectures and a talk concert on the Foreign Ministry’s programs aimed at supporting youth seeking overseas employment, including programs to help youth work for international organizations, working holiday programs, and the World Friends overseas volunteer program. A question-and-answer session will also take place to answer students’ questions regarding work abroad.

o Director of the United Nations Division Park Eun-ju, Director of the Consular Services Division Kim Hong-ki, and Third Secretary Hong Seok-yeong from the Foreign Ministry, as well as director at KOICA Kim Hyung-joo will attend the event as panelists, and give information on programs they are in charge of.

o The Foreign Ministry is also providing information on about ten programs designed to support youth seeking work abroad through its website on the global youth campaign (/youth), and posting recruitment notices on the website.

3. The forthcoming event is expected to serve as a good opportunity to help young Koreans better understand foreign affairs and build an international career. Any young people interested in programs designed to support youth seeking work abroad can participate in the event without pre-registration. The Foreign Ministry will continue efforts to expand and deepen communications with younger generations.
