Representatives of major international organizations in the Republic of Korea have been invited to take part in the event.

o The event will take place at Songdo Convensia in Incheon at 10:00-18:00, November 17.

2. At the event, representatives and other working-level officials of ten international organizations and their cooperative agencies in the ROK will provide job seekers with information on their organizations’ work, recruitment and personnel management systems, and recruitment knowhows, as well as ways to develop career. A question-and-answer session will ensue.

※ The international organizations to be represented at the event will include the Global Climate Fund (GCF); the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI); the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Seoul Office; the Seoul offices of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN Migration Agency; the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (ESCAP-ENEA); the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (UNESCO APCEIU); the UNICEF Seoul Office; the UN Project Office on Governance (UNPOG); the World Bank Group Korea Office; and the World Food Programme Korea Office.

3. In particular, the GGGI and the ICRC will conduct interviews to recruit interns at the event. Those who want to participate in the interviews should check the recruitment notice posted on the website of the Foreign Ministry’s International Organizations Recruitment Center (http://UNrecruit.mofa.go.kr), write a resume and a cover letter and bring them to the interviews.

4. Those who want to join the event should pre-register until November 16 on the websites of the Foreign Ministry’s International Organizations Recruitment Center (http://UNrecruit.mofa.go.kr) and the Incheon Metropolitan City (www.iiomcf.com), and select one of four groups (food, child, and education; economy and governance; humanitarianism; and environment).

※ For inquiries, please contact the Foreign Ministry’s International Organizations Recruitment Center (02-2100-8421, UNrecruit@mofa.go.kr) or the Incheon Tourism Organization’s Convention Bureau (032-210-1055, cvb@into.or.kr).

5. Going forward, the Foreign Ministry will continue to support in various ways bids of Korean nationals to build presence at international organizations. Among those ways will be holding briefings on job opportunities at international organizations and relevant career fairs; dispatching young Koreans overseas to work as junior professional officers (JPOs) and UN volunteers (UNVs); and running its International Organizations Recruitment Center.
