“Outreach Briefing Session on Global Youth” to Take Place at Pusan National University

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold an “outreach briefing session on global youth” at Pusan National University on October 26 to give information on various programs aimed at supporting youth seeking job opportunities abroad.

o Time and venue: October 26 from 15:00 to 17:00, Big Conference Room at Main Administration Building of Pusan National University

2. At the briefing session, five officials in charge of the programs of the Foreign Ministry and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will offer explanations on about ten programs, including those to support youth seeking employment at international organizations, internship programs at regional organizations in Latin America, the World Friends’ overseas volunteer programs, and working holiday programs. They will provide useful information, including when applications for each program will be received, qualifications, assistance provided to about 4,000 people such as airfares and living expenses, and matters that need attention when going abroad.

3. Any young people who are interested in working overseas can attend the briefing session at Pusan National University. They will also be able to ask questions during one-on-one consultations to be held after the briefing session.

4. Since the launch of the global youth campaign in May, the Foreign Ministry has held briefing sessions in various regions, including Chungcheongnam-do, Jeollabuk-do and Seoul. In response to the great interest youth have shown in the programs aimed at supporting youth seeking job opportunities abroad, and their active participation in briefing sessions, the Foreign Ministry will also hold a briefing session in Gyeonggi-do (Kyonggi University, November 17).

5. By conducting the programs designed to support youth seeking job opportunities abroad, the Foreign Ministry is providing opportunities for Korean youth to gain international experience in a range of areas, including information and technology, arts, energy, Latin America, and development cooperation, and helping them work abroad.
