1. About 10 journalists from Mongolia’s major newspapers and broadcasters will visit Seoul and Gangwon Province (Pyeongchang and Gangneung) from October 16 to 20 as part of the “ROK-Mongolia future-oriented program.”

※ Participating media outlets: Mongol HD TV, Montsame, Mongoliin Medee, Zuunii Medee, Ardchilal, Tonshuul, MGL Radio, etc.

2. The ROK-Mongolia future-oriented program has been carried out since 2013 to get more people in Mongolia to have a favorable view of the ROK. Mongolia’s young government officials and people from the media who have not been to the ROK have been invited to the ROK under the program.

o During the program, which marks the second of the year following the visit to the ROK by Mongolian congressional aides in September, young journalists from Mongolia will visit media outlets in the ROK, and make a tour of Pyeongchang and Gangneung to see how preparations for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games are being made.

o Prior to the visit to Gangwon Province, the Mongolian delegation will visit the Northeast Asian History Foundation and be briefed about Dokdo and the labeling of the East Sea. The delegation will also hold a meeting with the Foreign Ministry.

3. The upcoming ROK-Mongolia future-oriented program will serve as a good opportunity to promote the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games among Mongolian journalists and help them have a correct understanding of the ROK’s Dokdo and the labeling of the East Sea. The program is expected to continue to play a significant role as a bridge between the two countries.
