1. Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam will hold in Seoul on October 18 a Republic of Korea-United States vice foreign ministerial strategic dialogue with Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan of the US, who will make his first visit to the ROK since taking up the current post. The forthcoming event will mark the first of its kind since the launch of the Moon Jae-in government.

° The upcoming ROK-US vice foreign ministerial strategic dialogue is expected to serve as an opportunity to prepare for US President Trump’s visit to the ROK scheduled for November and to further step up policy coordination and collaboration between the two countries on major issues, including nuclear and other issues of North Korea and those concerning their bilateral relations.

※ The sixth of its kind took place in Washington DC, the US, on June 24, 2014.

2. Also in Seoul on October 18, Vice Minister Lim will host the first ROK-US-Japan vice foreign ministerial meeting since the launch of the Moon Jae-in government. ※ The sixth ROK-US-Japan vice foreign ministerial meeting was held in Washington DC, the US, on January 5, 2017.

3. On the sidelines of the trilateral meeting, Vice Minister Lim, together with his Japanese counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama, will hold the first ROK-Japan vice foreign ministerial meeting since the launch of the Moon government.
