1. The Foreign Ministry will hold a briefing session on its “global youth” campaign at Chonbuk National University on September 12 to provide college students there with tangible information regarding the various projects the Ministry is conducting to support Korean youth seeking presence overseas.

° The event will take place at the Jinsudang building, Chonbuk National University, at 16:00-18:00, September 12.

※ “Global youth” refers to “the young seeking to build presence beyond the Republic of Korea and in the global community.”

2. At the briefing event, officials overseeing major projects designed to support those seeking jobs overseas, including as employees at international organizations, interns at regional organizations in Latin America, participants in working holiday programs, or volunteer workers overseas, will offer detailed explanations on when applications for participation in those programs will be received, the eligibility for each program, and the financial support to be provided by the Foreign Ministry, such as air fares and living expenses. There will also be a question-and-answer session and one-on-one consultations for those wishing to seek advice.

3. Amid the growing interest in the government’s youth employment policy and in opportunities for overseas jobs as well as the increasing demand for such jobs, the Foreign Ministry launched the “global youth” campaign in May to systematically inform Korean youth of its ten-odd, individually conducted projects that have helped an annual 50,000-odd young Koreans build presence overseas, as well as to reinvigorate those projects.

° After launching the “global youth” campaign, the Foreign Ministry held a talk concert and a briefing session regarding it at Chungnam National University. In addition, a website on the “global youth” campaign is in operation at /youth to provide relevant information.

4. Following its briefing session at Chonbuk National University, the Foreign Ministry will hold such sessions at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies on September 26 and a university in Busan in October. By holding those sessions in not only Seoul but also other regions, the Ministry plans to diffuse information on its “global youth” campaign across the country.
