1. The Foreign Ministry has issued the travel-alert level of “Red Alert (Travel Restricted)” for the entire Democratic Republic of the Congo, effective from November 30.

° The decision has been made in consideration of the political conflict over the timing of the presidential election and expected public insecurity around December 19, when the term of office of the incumbent President will expire.

2. The nationals of the Republic of Korea visiting or staying in the DR Congo are advised to check the aforementioned travel advisory issued by the Foreign Ministry, and leave the country or postpone their visit unless they have urgent matters to attend to.

° Those who have to stay in the country are advised to remain in contact with the local Embassy of the Republic of Korea and pay serious heed to their safety.
