1. The Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will host a seminar at the KNDA on November 11 to mark the upcoming service of the Republic of Korea as the chair of the International Conference on Nuclear Security 2016. The seminar themed “the ROK’s nuclear policy and tasks” will double as the Korea Nuclear Policy Society’s annual academic conference for 2016.

2. The seminar will kick off with a keynote speech by Deputy Foreign Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs Choi Jong-moon, followed by discussions on ways that the ROK can contribute to the nuclear security regime and future tasks; the North Korean nuclear issue and ways for the ROK to address it; and nuclear safety and relevant cooperation in Northeast Asia.

3. The seminar will cover in depth the ROK’s nuclear policy, including with regard to nuclear security, and thereby help draw up policy recommendations.
