1. Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek of the Czech Republic will make an official visit to the Republic of Korea from November 8 to 10, accompanied by 50-odd high-level figures in various sectors, including a presidential advisor, the vice chairman of a chamber of commerce, and the president of a Prague technical university.

° The visit of Minister Zaoralek will come pursuant to the 2016-2018 action plan for the implementation of the ROK-Czech strategic partnership, agreed upon at the bilateral summit talks in December 2015. Included in his schedule in the ROK are a bilateral foreign ministerial meeting, a business forum between entrepreneurs of the two countries and the second bilateral Forum for the Future.

° During his third visit to the ROK since 2005, Minister Zaoralek will also visit the truce village of Panmunjeom and meet with the Unification Minister.

2. On November 9, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will hold a meeting and a working luncheon with Foreign Minister Zaoralek, during which the two top diplomats will discuss ways to step up substantive cooperation in the sectors of trade, investment, nuclear power plants, science, technology and infrastructure; to work with the international community in pressuring North Korea in response to its fifth nuclear test; to bolster the ROK-Visegrad Group cooperation; and for the ROK and the Czech Republic to work together at the UN and other international organizations.

3. Minister Zaoralek’s visit to the ROK is expected to serve as an opportunity to work more closely on the bilateral, regional and global levels with the Czech Republic, a member of the Visegrad Group and the ROK’s strategic partner.
