1. The Foreign Ministry has upgraded the travel-alert level for entire Gabon from the previous “Blue Alert (Precautious)” to “Yellow Alert (Highly Cautious),” effective from September 12.

° The decision has been made in consideration of the fact that amid the continuing confrontation in Gabon since the announcement of the outcome of the presidential election on August 31, the local public security situation is sharply worsening, as can be seen from the deployment of armed troops at major shopping facilities and the limited operations of transportation and communications networks.

2. The nationals of the Republic of Korea visiting or staying in Gabon are advised to check the aforementioned travel advisory issued by the Foreign Ministry and pay heed to their safety.
