Foreign Ministry Holds the Launching Ceremony of the “Citizens for Public Diplomacy” Group for 2016

1. The Foreign Ministry hosted at the annex building of the Government Complex Seoul on June 17 the launching ceremony of the “Citizens for Public Diplomacy” group. The ceremony held under the title of “High Five! Korea!: Citizens for Public Diplomacy” brought together some 250 people, including the members of the “Citizens for Public Diplomacy” group and other nationals of the Republic of Korea who are keenly interested in public diplomacy.

2. The event featured various meaningful programs, including the release of the campaign song for the ROK’s public diplomacy titled “High Five! Korea!” and a music video on the country’s public diplomacy activities.

3. At the ceremony, First Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam delivered encouraging remarks, in which he asked each and every participant to take pride as a public diplomacy officer of the Republic of Korea and to carry out relevant activities in a creative and active manner.

4. The “Citizens for Public Diplomacy” group will plan and conduct its own original public diplomacy projects for foreigners at home and abroad, and the Foreign Ministry will render strong support to the group with regard to their activities.
