1. The Foreign Ministry, which started to recruit youth groups for public diplomacy in 2013, has recruited the fourth such group. One hundred applicants have been chosen to join the group after 14:1 competition.

° Not only youngsters from the Republic of Korea but also those from many other countries, including China, Japan, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Australia, will serve in the youth group for public diplomacy to actively publicize the ROK to students in the ROK from such countries as well as peoples of their homelands.

2. The members of the fourth group will start their activities with the group’s launching ceremony on June 17 and continue them until December. The Foreign Ministry will provide the group with activity fund, uniforms and relevant materials in active support for their public diplomacy work.

3. Going forward, the Foreign Ministry will more actively implement the “youth group for public diplomacy” program and other public diplomacy activities together with the people and thereby put to active use the ROK people’s capacity for civilian diplomacy.
