1. The Foreign Ministry has invited 80-odd Koreans, Chinese and Japanese, who are studying at 31 colleges in the Republic in Korea and carrying out club activities together, to visit the Ministry on May 20 and attend an event designed to encourage them to promote friendship and exchanges through club activities.

2. During the upcoming visit event, the fourth of its kind since its inaugural round held in 2013, the college students from the ROK, China and Japan will be briefed on the progress in the ROK-China-Japan trilateral cooperation and in the project to build a “trilateral youth network (TYN)” in 2016. They will then visit the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) and be briefed on the progress in trilateral cooperation.

3. The project to build a “trilateral youth network” is designed to support exchanges among the three countries’ future leaders of the trilateral cooperation and thereby broaden the basis of the trilateral cooperation. In addition to the upcoming invitation event, the ROK Foreign Ministry will hold various other events for youths of the three countries, such as a “mock trilateral summit (in Japan in 2016),” a “diplomatic camp” and an “essay contest on the trilateral cooperation.”
