1. The Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will conduct the “Introduction of Korea for Foreign Diplomats” program from December 1 to 3. This program is designed to introduce various aspects of the Republic of Korea, including society, history, culture, economy and foreign policy, to foreign diplomats who have newly been assigned to the ROK.

2. The program has been implemented on an annual basis since 1999 to help foreign diplomats newly assigned to the ROK enhance their overall understanding of the country. Until 2014, a total of about 750 foreign diplomats took part in 16 rounds of the program. In 2015, about 73 diplomats from 51 countries will participate in the program.

3. Going forward, the KNDA plans to seek substantial progress in the ROK’s bilateral relations with foreign countries by helping foreign diplomats stationed in the ROK better understand the country; and develop and conduct more various programs for foreign diplomats in order to contribute to efforts to promote the ROK’s friendship and cooperation with other countries.
