1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of Environment, will host a Korea-Latin America Water and Environment Forum in Seoul on November 3 and 4.

2. The forum will bring together 12 people from Latin America, including government officials of Honduras, Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Colombia who handle water and environmental affairs, as well as delegates from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); and 100 people from the Republic of Korea, including those from relevant government agencies and enterprises.

3. At the forum’s information session on water and environmental projects in Latin America, the participants will learn about outstanding projects participated by Korean companies and share information on promising environmental projects in the region and on ways to enter the regional market. In addition, one-on-one business consultations will take place between government officials from Latin America and Korean entrepreneurs.

4. The ROK Foreign Ministry holds forums on water and environment to seek ways to increase environmental cooperation with regions, with which Korean companies face difficulties in building networks, and to support bids of Korean companies to win orders for promising environmental projects.

5. The forthcoming forum is expected to help consolidate multi-dimensional economic cooperation between the ROK and Latin America and pave the way for Korean enterprises’ entry into Latin America, a promising market in the field of water and environment.
