1. During his stopover in Paris, France, on his way back home after attending the third International Conference on Financing for Development held in Addis Ababa on July 13-16, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will meet with his French counterpart Laurant Fabius on July 17.

2. In the meeting, Minister Yun will commend France for its role in reaching on July 14 the agreement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue; be briefed on the key developments in the lead-up to the agreement and their assessment; exchange views with his French counterpart on the implications of the agreement for both the international nuclear non-proliferation regime and the North Korean nuclear issue; and ask France and the EU to continue supporting the efforts of the government of the Republic of Korea to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.

3. With regard to “2015-2016 ROK-France Years” event to take place from September 2015 to mark the 130th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations in 2016, the two top diplomats will discuss ways to work together toward the success of the event.

4. In addition, Minister Yun will commend France for its leadership as the host country of the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to be held from November 30 through December 11, 2015, and discuss with the French Minister on ways to work together toward its success.
