Regarding the loss of many lives as well as the destruction of properties and cultural heritages caused by the earthquake near the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu on April 25, the Government of the Republic of Korea offers its deepest sympathy and condolences to the government and the people of Nepal.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea hopes that Nepal would swiftly recover from this national tragedy, thereby helping its people overcome their shock and sorrow as soon as possible. In this regard, the ROK government has decided to provide the country with one million US dollars in emergency humanitarian assistance. The ROK government will also positively consider offering Nepal further assistance, such as dispatching its overseas emergency relief team to the affected region.
