1. On January 6, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will visit the Osan Air Base, where Korean and US troops are serving side by side.

◦ During the visit to the base, Minister Yun will hold a meeting with leading commanders from the Republic of Korea and the United States, make a tour of the Korean Air & Space Operations Center and other main facilities on the base, and offer encouragement and appreciation to the Korean and the US troops there.

2. Minister Yun, together with US Ambassador to the ROK Mark Lippert and Commander of US Forces Korea Curtis Scaparrotti who will accompany him on the visit, will meet with Korean and US troops on the base and extend appreciation to them for their service.

3. In addition, in appreciation to the Korean and the US troops for unswervingly maintaining their combined defense posture even in cold weather, the Minister will deliver to the ROK Air Force Operations Command and the US Seventh Air Force Command, respectively, the cash gift from the Foreign Ministry personnel.

4. The ROK Foreign Minister has personally visited military bases at the beginning and/or the end of each year to offer encouragement to soldiers. On December 27, 2013, Minister Yun visited the 9th Infantry Division, also known as the Baekma Unit, of the ROK Army.
