1. Ambassador to Denmark Ma Young-sam, together with the vice chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of China, has been elected to serve a two-year term as Co-Chairman of the UN International Working Group on Sport and Persons with Disabilities. The decision was made at the fourth Plenary Session of the Sport for Development and Peace International Working Group held at the UN Office at Geneva on July 1.

2. The Working Group, an organization related to the UN Office on Sport for Development and Peace, works mainly to set international norms to improve sport rights of persons with disabilities and recommend governments of individual countries to adopt policies consistent with the norms.

3. Ambassador Ma, a qualified international table-tennis referee, had served as temporary Chairman of the Working Group on Sport and Persons with Disabilities.
