1. The Government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) welcomes the sanctions relief measures of the Joint Plan of Action agreed on November 24, 2013, which took effect on January 20, as a result of the negotiations among the P5+1 countries (the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany) and Iran.

2. The ROK Government expects that the measures of the Joint Plan of Action will be faithfully implemented within the agreed time frame of six months, thereby laying the basis for confidence building. The ROK Government further hopes that a final agreement will be reached within a year, as scheduled, leading to a comprehensive and complete resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue.

3. The ROK Government will continue to join the efforts by the international community to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue, and will implement sanctions relief measures as stated in the Joint Plan of Action for 6 months starting on January 20.
