1. The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the announcement by US Secretary of State John Kerry on the resumption of negotiations on the Middle East peace process which has been stalled since 2010. Furthermore, the ROK Government commends all the devoted diplomatic efforts made by all parties including Israel and Palestine as well as Jordan and the League of Arab States under the mediation of Secretary Kerry.

2. It is the hope of the ROK Government that the direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians do indeed achieve tangible outcomes for the realization of the two-state-solution and further lead to the establishment of permanent peace in the Middle East.
