1. The Government of the Republic of Korea supports the US government’s decision to expand 
assistance to Afghanistan, such as the deployment of additional troops, in a bid to accelerate the 
stabilization and reconstruction of the country, a plan announced on December 1 as the outcome 
of the Afghan strategy review.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea anticipates that the continued efforts of the US government, 
including those mentioned in the announcement, will make a great contribution to efforts by the Afghan 
people and international community toward the early stabilization and reconstruction of the country.

3. The Government of the Republic of Korea, for its part, will continue participating in the international 
community’s efforts to support stabilization and reconstruction of Afghanistan.
